Regarding the second part: What if your mind links night time sleeping with "screwing a mate?" Will it then wait for its daily dose of before putting you to sleep?

Not to go off topic here... but masturbation has no side effects. Those are all myths. At best masturbation might be harmful psychologically if people are doing that instead of real relationships... but even then.. purely on a physical standpoint... masturbation has no side effects.

That being said... I have seen positive and null effects of masturbation. Sometimes Im uncomfortable... so jerk off and it relaxes me. And other times even masturbating 7 times wont make me sleep.

deep sexual feeling and semen production and other sex related stuffs is not limited to real sex purpose only instead it have function in overall health including mental functions. when one masturbate he is wasting the resources for nothing but if not engage in such activity then the sexual desire and feeling increases, meaning even small sex stimuli whether the sight of woman or thought can give him erection and deep sexual feeling, in other words said dopamine receptor density is raised. dopamine is the motivation, interest generating neurotransmitter in brain. but simply having more dopamine will not give pleasure but to receive them need the dopamine receptor and if not masturbate or ejaculate often the dopamine receptor density increases. dopamine receptor density also decreases in drug addiction, alcohol and other substance abuse. now when sexual desire is always on peak state other desires also in peak state this is crucial for maintaining pleasure in life, motivation to do activities, interests etc.

no need to believe but experience yourself. simply abstain from masturbation activity for 2 weeks and feel the difference yourself.

nothing to lose and experience your real sexual feelings. what everyone experience if do daily masturbation is just a small fraction of his real sexuality but if not do it it just accumulates and its like a force.

I have been handling insomnia since past 10+ years. Have tried almost everything including Zolpidem (worst drug for insomnia) and found my redemption in melatonin.

My personal experience : Its not addictive. I used it to overcome insomnia, correct my sleep/wake cycle. Whenever I divert from my natural sleep cycle, I use it for a week or two till i get back to my proper sleep timings naturally then I dont use it for approx 1 or 2 months till my sleep cycle goes off track as I am conditioned to insomnia for 10 years or more.

Google Melatonin and u will learn a lot about it.
